The Many Ways We Serve
Presentations and Tours
The members of BVRS do not just respond to 911 calls. As members of our community, we strive to be active in promoting safety and emergency preparedness. We love doing presentations for clubs, schools, and daycares. We will be glad to send over an ambulance and a few crew members to give a presentation that fits your needs. Not only do we do educational presentations, but we provide the ambulance for tours. We have tailor made presentations for every age group. If your group would like to come to us, we also love to give tours of our station to give a better idea of how we operate. Please contact us if you would like a presentation.
Car Seat Checks
The safety of children is one of our highest priorities. Because of this, BVRS has certified car seat installation technicians who are eager to both install new seats and check seats that have already been installed. Please contact us if you would like a seat check.
Open House
Each May, the members of BVRS open our doors for the community to get a closer look at who we are. We have activities for both children and adults. These include a fun book about calling 911 and hands on use of some of our most advanced medical tools. We also do a demonstration of vehicle extrication. Our goal is to provide a little bit of education hidden in a day of fun
Steppin’ Out
During Blacksburg’s annual downtown bazaar, we move our operations from the station on Progress Street to Main Street. Our trucks are available for tours and our equipment is on display. We run all of our calls from the Main Street area, so the community gets to see how we respond to calls every day. Our display table includes educational and fun items for all ages.
